Classy Cat is a Freeman 27 foot Cabin Cruiser which we used to teach our Inland Waterways Helmsman Courses in Lough Ree Powerboat School.
Freeman are a Classic British Cruiser and our boat is a floating class room hence our choice of the name Classy Cat, which follows our tradition of having a cat included in all of our boat names.
She is a 4 berth boat with an open sheltered cockpit making her suitable for teaching in most acceptable weather conditions.
She has 4 berths. A double Vee berth in the bow and another double berth in the spacious dining saloon. She also has a full galley with hot water system and gas cooker, a shower toilet and Webasto central heating.
Electronics include Marine VHF and depth sounder.
She has also been fitted with genuine Freeman period accessories includin radio mast and chrome searchlight.
Classy Cat is powered by a Perkins 4108 50 hp inboard diesel engine giving her a cruising speed of 5 knots. She is equipped with the normal features associated with a shannon cruiser such as domestic charging system, gas powered galley, hot water system and central heating.
This is an ideal first Shannon Cruiser for a Boating Beginner. She is an exceptionally easy to handle and manouevre Family Boat with her large, safe, open aft cockpit.
Free training course for two people included in the price.
Classy Cat is currently lying on the hard (out of the water) after an extensive service and makeover by Lough Ree Marine Services in Quigley's Marina Athlone making her immediately available for survey by a prospective buyer.
