Posting Guidelines for Commercial Members Following on from the general guidelines for posting, here are some pointers ( with a small p ! You know yourselves folks - Common Sense !! ) as to what is acceptable for commercial type posts on these forums: The forums at Club Powerboat.ie are generally non-commercial, although occasional relevant, useful or interesting commercial posts are acceptable. Only Commercial members may use their Company name or similar as a username. It is perfectably acceptable to use your company's web site address as the Home Page URL in your profile once you are a Commercial member of the Club. You may also have a link to your web site in your signature. Your postings should be of real interest to Forum members though, and not just thinly veiled efforts to get your company name seen! We do provide advertising opportunities on Club Powerboat.ie ! Contact stuart at powerboat.ie for details. Specific examples of unacceptable commercial posts include: - Blatant advertising, not related to any ongoing discussion - Repetitive posting of the same information - Unsubstantiated claims or wild marketing hype - Running down competitors products If you are the agent for Bloggs RIBs and the forum are discussing your product, feel free to identify yourself as such and provide relevant info. If you are a Mechanic or Instructor, giving advice on the Forum it is only fair that you be allowed to mention that you own or work for Bloggs Marine Engineering or Bloggs Powerboat School. Common sense folks ! Bear in mind though, that members may praise or criticise your products or services in a public forum ! Again all such comments are expected to be in the spirit of dignity and respect which I expect to be a feature of these forums. As always, your comments and suggestions for further improvements are welcome at any time to stuart at powerboat.ie . __________________ ____________________________ Administrator Club Powerboat.ie
