I have a 50hp Yamaha Outboard ( circa 1985) how much would a standard service cost be on this and any recommendations for anyone in the Dublin area?

Give Derek in http://www.seakingsupplies.com/ a ring. No connection, other than happy customer. (Can't remember cost)

The best Yamaha people in Dublin, if not Ireland (in my professional opinion), are Killen Marine.

Again, no connection other than being a very impressed customer down through the years.

Kind regards,

Stuart

Killen are excellent, but their reputation means that their always very busy. Best to book with plenty of advance notice. (that's how I ended up using the guy I mentioned)

OB Marine or Green Marine for outboard's, you cant get any better in the city.
Too many guys that think they know what they're doing , they just replace parts untill the engine works again, then slap the customer with a bill for all the parts including the parts that probably didn't need replacing!

The two guys above have decades of fault finding experience!

Theres only a certain amout of parts you are going to be charged for, namely, 1. Plugs.
2. Fuel Filter.
3. Gear Oil.
4. Impellor.
Nothing to ontoward and hidden. Your going to realise if you've been charged for a big end or a brand new prop!
